Purchased an Aspire TC-1780-EB11 recently for general use, but I'm now looking at upgrading it somewhat to make it capable of gaming. Looking online, I can't seem to find all that much about its internal hardware. Hi, On my Desktop "Aspire TC-1780" powered by Intel i5-13400, 16GB RAM I'm using the original Acer-keyboard which has been included. I want to permanentely turn on function Keys layout (F1-F12) instead of the default media-keys layout. So for example just if pressing "Fn+F2" keys the Pc should go to standby instead of default just pressing "F2" key. Temporary I could reach this goal by pressing "Fn+Esc" keys, but the PC forgets this setting if I restart it again. In older BIOS they have been a setting for this, but not within my PC's BIOS. I have tried to replace the existing Predator 2 x 8GB RAM with 2 x 16GB of Crucial RAM. Both types are DDR4-3200 1.2V CL22. PC will run with 1 x 16GB no problem. Will also run with 1 x16GB Crucial plus 1X 8GB Predator. With 2 x 16GB Crucial it wont boot just continuous beeping.

Hello, I have a desktop “Aspire TC-1780” with Intel i5-13400, 16GB RAM, 180W power supply. In the Cinebench R23 benchmark, I noticed that the multi-score of my PC (14500 points) is slightly lower than the values published on the Internet for the same processor (approx. 15900 points) I finally found the cause thanks to the “Intel Extreme Tuning Utility” program: The turbo clock of the P-Cores is constantly “only” 3.8 Ghz in the benchmark instead of the max. possible 4.6 Ghz. This is because “Current/EDP Limit Throttling” is also constantly active, which limits the maximum power consumption to approx. 90-95W. Since I couldn't find a setting in the BIOS to change this threshold, I tried using “ThrottleStop” to increase the power values Pl1 and PL2 - but this didn't lead to any change in the CPU clock, and “Current/EDP Limit Throttling” is still active in the benchmark. Is there any other way to increase Current/EDP threshold? I only want to increase it for a short time for testing purposes. In normal operation, the current 90W threshold probably makes sense anyway. I recently ordered an Aspire TC-1770 and they told me they were out of stock and would I accept an Aspire TC-1780? I can't seem to pinpoint the difference.

Hi. Does anyone know if this affects Aspire series TC-1780 with 13th gen i7-13700 2100Mhz CPU? I bought mine late last year, and (touch wood!) no problems yet. I know that part of the problem is caused by the motherboard allowing additional voltage to be sent by the CPU. That may apply to certain motherboard manufacturers like Asus though… Apparently Acer make their own brand of in-house motherboard, so I wondered if crashing Aspires due to overheating processors is a thing? Regurlaly I get notifications that essential updates are ready to be installed. But when I click on the notifications there is an endless circling of dots, without ever coming to the downloads.
