One last question about this last step in CCleaner: should I just run the cleaner and then scan the registry? What about the "besmette herstelpunten" you mention in other threads?

Should I remove it too, and how to do that?

Those are restore points that are infected by the virus. You can delete them all and make a new (clean) restore point.

I'm not sure of the names in English Windows, but this is the Dutch-system (with a try of translation) :

In Windows 7

• via Start -> Configuratiescherm (Control Panel) -> Systeem & Beveiliging (System & Security) -> Systeem (System) -> Systeembeveiliging (System Protection) -> schakel nu systeemherstel uit door de gewenste schijf te selecteren (select disk) en op "configureren" (configure) te klikken.
  
• Klik nu op "verwijderen" (delete) om alle herstelpunten te verwijderen.
  
• Klik op "Toepassen" (apply) en "OK".
  
• Herstart nu de PC. (restart PC)
