HDMI 1.4a @120Hz with lower resolution? CSGO

Hello,

 

I read that 1.4a can't get 120Hz at 1080p or 720p. If i put the resolution even lower is it possible to achieve 120hz? I get around 220fps ingame for CSGO(Counter Strik Global Offensive)  so that's fine. My Laptop only has a HDMI port so that's why i'm asking this question.
